DIANA Churritos were something else entirely: crispy, smothered in cheese, and covered in that orange powder that stuck to everything, even your soul. They'd leave your fingers stained for hours and your teeth all stick together, but it didn't matter, because that was the true taste of childhood.

In Honduras we ate them at the corner store, at piñatas or during recess, always sharing by force because someone would ask for "just one" and end up putting their whole hand in the bag.
